Our viewpoint is that once your pet is entrusted into our hands, they will receive the same attentive and devoted care that we provide to our own personal animals.

James McNamara VMD

Veterinarian

Dr. Jim McNamara has been practicing veterinary medicine in the Northern Fairfield County region since 1995. He is a 1991 graduate of the University of Connecticut, and a 1995 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. He became the owner of Bethel Veterinary Hospital in 2005.

Dr. McNamara is a member of the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association, the Fairfield County Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association. His areas of special interest include endocrinology, radiology and dentistry.

Aubrey Fitch VMD

Veterinarian

Dr. Aubrey Fitch joined the practice in 2006. She is a 2003 graduate from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. Her areas of special interests are exotic pet medicine and behavior medicine. Dr. Fitch grew up in New Milford, CT, and graduated from Lehigh University with a BS in Behavioral Neuroscience. She lives in Litchfield County with her husband Scott, their son, Isaac, and their dog, two rabbits and chickens. Outside of work, she enjoys skiing, hiking, quilting and playing clarinet in the Wind Ensemble of Western Connecticut.

Dr. Fitch is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association, the Association of Avian Veterinarians, and the American Association of Animal Behaviorists. She is also a member of the American Reptile Association of Veterinarians as well as The Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians and the Association of Sugar Gliders Veterinarians.

Laura Leigh Frazier DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Laura Leigh Frazier grew up in Old Lyme, CT, attended UConn, then graduated from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. She enjoys all aspects of general medicine and has a special interest in veterinary dentistry. Dr. Frazier joined BVH in 2025 and is very happy to be part of the team!

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Frazier enjoys skiing, kayaking, yoga, and gardening. She also loves hiking with her dog Melo, coaxing her shy cat Toby out from under the furniture and going on adventures with her husband and two sons.
